Due to a technical failure in Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL)'s SAP system, the company's fuel supply network has been non-operational for the past 36 hours. As a result of this issue, the supply from all HPCL depots across the country to petrol pumps has come to a halt, leading to a disruption in fuel availability at many outlets.

The company’s technical team is working to restore the system. Simultaneously, efforts are also being made to continue the supply manually. However, due to system interdependencies, even the manual process is not functioning optimally. If the system is not restored soon, it may take approximately another 48 hours for the situation to normalise completely.

"We appeal to the public not to panic. This is purely a technical glitch, and there is no shortage of petrol or diesel. Other companies like Indian Oil and Bharat Petroleum continue to supply fuel smoothly, and fuel is readily available. We request everyone not to believe in rumors and to maintain calm. Please avoid crowding at other petrol pumps. There is no fuel shortage – the issue has arisen solely due to a technical system failure, which will be resolved soon," said Amit Gupta President, FAMPEDA (Federation of All Maharashtra Petrol Dealers Association)

"At the Pune level, Petrol Dealers Association (PDA), Pune, is in constant touch with HPCL officials and receiving updates on an hourly basis. Since the issue arose, their IT team has been actively working on resolving it. We hope that the problem will be resolved soon and our dealers will receive their supplies on time. We appeal to the citizens of Pune not to panic, as sufficient fuel stock is available at other petrol pumps and there is no shortage of fuel," said Dhruv Ruparel, President, PDA, Pune.
