The Pune Municipal Corporation's (PMC) Electrical Department has completed the erection of 16 poles and placed them along the 24-metre-wide road from Sainik Vihar/Arch Building to Raheja Circle in NIBM Annexe.
The progress comes after continuous follow-ups by local residents, along with a report by The Free Press Journal that highlighted the urgent need for improved road and electrical infrastructure in the area.
Following the development, new roads have also been opened for public use including Raheja Circle to Raheja Reserve Premiere (T5 & T6) – Half-width (12 metres) of the 24-metre-wide cement concrete road is now open for public and vehicular movement. Raheja Reserve Premiere (T5 & T6) to T7, T8, T9, & T10 – A 7-metre-wide stretch of the road has been accessible since yesterday, easing traffic congestion.
The residents also welcomed the upcoming developments including the installation and charging of electrical poles that will be completed soon from Raheja Reserve Premiere (T7–T10) to Vibgyor School. Foundation work is nearing completion. High-rise tower components are expected to be commissioned next week.
The officials have urged residents to drive cautiously as construction work continues and informed that the 24-metre-wide cement concrete road up to the New Culvert Bridge will be completed by the end of April 2025.
