The Nashik Phata Metro Station, part of the Purple Line (Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation to Swargate), is in a state of total mess due to unregulated parking.

Two-wheelers are parked at the entry and exit gates of the Nashik Phata Metro Station in a haphazard manner, leaving no space for commuters to enter or exit the station.

An X (formerly Twitter) user shared pictures of the haphazard parking and said, "There is barely any space to exit this station when you come from the lift near Kasarwadi Railway Station. @metrorailpune @PCcityPolice please clear this mess of two-wheelers here and make the entry pedestrian-friendly."

Meanwhile, X users criticised the authorities for this.

"Totally wrong planning for this station. You can't easily get to the station; getting an auto is very difficult," a user wrote.

"What if a stampede-like situation takes place in the station due to some undesirable incident? How will passengers exit from this narrow passage? I will hold the Metro authority itself responsible for this," another user commented.

"No plans yet to build parking near metro stations. Two years have passed now," a third user claimed.

Meanwhile, the tambora-shaped pedestrian bridge connecting Chhatrapati Sambhaji Udyan Metro Station to the Peth area is nearing completion and is set to open next month.

The 105-metre-long cable-stayed bridge is set to enhance last-mile connectivity for residents and office-goers from areas such as Laxmi Road, Kumthekar Road, etc.

The construction of the bridge began in March 2022.
