Pune: Army Institute of Technology Students Win First Prize in Two Categories at Smart India Hackathon 2024

The students of the Army Institute of Technology (AIT) showcased exceptional talent and innovative skills by winning the first prize in two problem statements at the prestigious Smart India Hackathon 2024. The Grand Finale of this hackathon was held across 51 nodal centers nationwide.

The Smart India Hackathon (SIH), a flagship initiative of the Government of India, has become a renowned platform for inspiring innovation and problem-solving among the youth. Recognized as the nation’s largest open innovation platform, SIH challenges students to tackle real-world issues faced by ministries, industries, and organizations.

Cyber Triage Tool to Streamline Digital Forensic Investigation

Two teams from AIT, Team Black Syndicate and Team Carbon Daters, impressed the judges with their innovative solutions. Team Black Syndicate, led by Chetan Singh, along with Yash Pathak, Dharjinder Singh, Roshnee Gouda, Aditya Pratap, and Rajat Singh, bagged the first position and a cash prize of Rs 1,00,000 at the Noida Institute of Engineering and Technology, Greater Noida. They developed a 'Cyber Triage Tool to Streamline Digital Forensic Investigation,' addressing a challenge sponsored by the National Investigative Agency (NIA). Their project created a user-friendly digital forensics tool that streamlined the importation and analysis of evidence, enhancing efficiency in investigations.

Meanwhile, Team Carbon Daters, led by Kaushal Vyas, with members Nikhil Dhariwal, Riya Kumari, Shubham Kumar, Ayush H, and KBV Kishore, also won first place and a cash prize of Rs 1,00,000 at IIT Tirupati. Their project, 'Portal for Innovation Excellence Indicators,' addressed a problem statement sponsored by the All India Institute of Ayurveda (AIIA), under the Ministry of AYUSH. The team developed a user-friendly portal designed to measure and showcase innovation in educational institutions.

Both teams received valuable guidance from Prof. Vaishali Ingale and Prof. Kuldeep Hule. Maj Gen KK Chakrabarti, Chairman of AIT, Brig Abhay A Bhat, Director of AIT, and Dr. B.P. Patil, Principal of AIT, extended their heartfelt congratulations to both teams for their outstanding achievement in the hackathon.
