In addition, the young woman started pressuring him for marriage and threatened to implicate him in the crime of dowry if he refused. Fed up with this constant mental torture, the officer took the extreme step and killed himself on the wedding day itself.
The name of the Income Tax officer who committed suicide is Harekrishna Pandey. He was working in the Income Tax office of Nashik. His marriage was fixed with a young woman from Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh and they got engaged in Varanasi itself. At this engagement program, the bride hugged her alleged boyfriend in front of everyone. This incident exposed her love affair and Harekrishna Pandey came under mental stress.

After this, Harekrishna Pandey refused to marry. Due to this, the girl started blackmailing him. "Marry me or I will get you arrested for dowry crime," she had threatened. Tired of the continuous blackmailing and mental torture, Harekrishna Pandey finally killed himself. He ended his life by hanging himself in Uttamnagar area of Nashik. A case has been registered in Ambad police station in this regard. This incident has created a big stir in Nashik city.
