In good news for commuters in Pune, operations at Khadki Metro Station on the Purple Line (PCMC to Swargate) are set to begin tomorrow (June 21). The Pune Metro made the announcement on its official X (formerly Twitter) handle on Friday.
While the PCMC to Swargate metro stretch has been fully operational since September 24 last year, two stations — Khadki and Range Hills — were not opened to the public. Due to this, commuters were forced to travel either to Shivajinagar or Bopodi. Now, with the opening of the Khadki station, residents from nearby areas such as Khadki Bazar, Aundh, Range Hill Corner, Khadki Police Colony, etc., will heave a sigh of relief.

The Khadki area also houses major institutions such as the Ammunition Factory, HE Factory, 512 Army Base Workshop, Railway Police Headquarters, CQAE, and the Khadki Cantonment Board. The opening of the station will also benefit employees of these institutions.
Meanwhile, the opening of the Range Hills station will still take some time.
