Good News for Pune Flyers! No More Waiting In Stuck Feeder Buses As AeroMall Launches Express Lanes For Them |

AeroMall has introduced a dedicated express lane for feeder buses transporting travelers from the Pune airport arrival area to the cab pickup zone to reduce traffic congestion.

The decision has been taken after the number of complaints about chaotic parking, particularly by private vehicles. This has become a persistent issue at the airport's arrival and departure points. The situation becomes worse during the late evening hours, leading to significant delays for the buses.

Y. S. Rajput, Vice President of AeroMall, highlighted that the express lane became operational earlier this week. Currently, three dedicated buses are in service, shuttling passengers from the airport to AeroMall, where they can easily board their cabs.

Due to unregulated parking near the departure section, disruptions have occurred for these buses. "After opening the new terminal, smooth passenger transit is our top priority," Rajput said.

Furthermore, fines are issued for vehicles parked in the express lane. Only commercial vehicles are permitted to drop off passengers but cannot pick them up. Private vehicles are allowed only for quick pickups and drop-offs and must leave immediately.

New terminal at Pune airport

Pune International Airport marked a significant transition as all flight operations shifted to the New Integrated Terminal Building (NITB) from March 5.

Following the successful commissioning of the New Integrated Terminal Building (NITB) and shifting the entire operation to NITB, the Airports Authority of India (AAI) will soon start on repurposing the existing arrival hall of the Old Terminal Building into an extended departure hall, seamlessly connected to the NITB via a dedicated corridor. This will address the passenger demand and enhance operational efficiency, the expansion will introduce 14 additional check-in counters to streamline passenger processing and reduce wait times.
