A video from Pune's Kondhwa is going viral on social media. Some are claiming that a Hindu man was lynched by a Muslim mob in the Kausar Baug area over a minor parking dispute. However, only half of the information posted by these netizens is true.

According to the police, two individuals identified as Ganesh Subhash Rakhpasare (32, a resident of Ashraf Nagar, Kondhwa Budruk) and Ashraf Ashfak Shaikh (30, a resident of Bhagyalakshmi Tower, Mithanagar, Kondhwa) engaged in a knife fight over a parking dispute on Wednesday at 11pm on a public road in front of Sana Hospital in Kausar Baug.

Vinay Patankar, Senior Police Inspector (Kondhwa Police station), speaking to The Free Press Journal said, "Ganesh Rakhpasare had parked his car on the public road in front of Sana Hospital near Gausiya Hotel in Kausar Baug, Kondhwa. The hotel staff did not allow him to park his car in front of the hotel. While an argument was happening between the hotel staff and Rakhpasare, Shaikh approached and asked Rakhpasare, 'Why are you staring at me?'"

In no time, a heated argument broke out between Rakhpasare and Shaikh. Shaikh attacked Rakhpasare with a sharp weapon. Following the incident, Rakhpasare called his brother, and they attacked Shaikh. Both men sustained serious injuries to the head and were shifted to Sassoon General Hospital for medical treatment.

So far, Patankar said, three individuals have been arrested in the case. "Rakhpasare and his nephew along with Shaikh have been arrested. Rakhpasare and Shaikh have a criminal history. More than three cases have been registered against them at multiple police stations. Shaikh had also been booked for a case under NDPS Act," he said.

"Police are investigating the matter. If we find more people are involved in the incident, we will arrest them," he added.

Meanwhile, the car that Rakhpasare was driving had a 'police' plate on it. When asked about this, Patankar said, "The owner of the car is a retired police officer who runs a private security agency. Rakhpasare worked as a driver for him." However, this raises the question of how a retired police officer can have a 'police' plate on his car.
