Dacoits Strike Again In Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: Family Terrorized In Midnight Robbery |

The havoc caused by dacoits is increasingly becoming a significant concern within the jurisdiction of the commissionerate of police. On May 20, six dacoits barged into a house in Aloknagar, Satara, around 1:30 AM, after threatening a father-son duo with a knife. A case has been registered at the Satara police station.

Before this incident, the dacoits targeted four other houses in the area but were unsuccessful in gaining entry. Similar incidents of dacoity have been reported recently in Bajajnagar and Ramrai in Waluj, raising concerns about the rising frequency of such crimes. The dacoits seem unafraid of the police, as these crimes are happening regularly, posing a severe challenge to the city police.

On the night of May 20, the dacoits, who were wearing monkey caps and carrying sharp weapons, first targeted the house of Kiran Joshi in Auriya Village society. The house was locked, but the dacoits entered the first floor, then moved to the main road. They attempted to break into another bungalow near Ramdoot Hanuman Temple but failed. Their movements were captured on the CCTV of Sahani’s bungalow.

The dacoits then proceeded to break into the house of Nilesh Bagul, who lived there with his parents, wife, brother, sister-in-law, and two-year-old son. After forcing their way in, they threatened Nilesh and his father, Praveen, with sharp weapons. They stole jewelry worth Rs 1.50 lakh and cash from the bedroom, as well as mobile phones from the family members before fleeing the scene.

Upon receiving the information, the Satara police, along with the dog squad and fingerprint experts, arrived at the scene. CCTV footage has been collected, and the investigation is ongoing. The police believe the dacoits fled towards the Dhule-Solapur Highway after the crime.
