The class twelfth examination being conducted by the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE) began in the district on Tuesday. The district collector visited various exam centres in the morning and inspected the facilities available for the students. The class twelfth examination will be conducted between February 12 and March 18. In all, 63,978 candidates appeared for the examination in 161 centres across the district.
In Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar rural, in all, 8,086 students will appear in 20 centres, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar city – 14,255 students in 33 centres, Gangapur taluka – 6,400 students in 14 centres, Kannad – 6,012 students in 19 centres, Khuldabad – 4,625 students in 12 centres, Paithan – 5,802 students in 16 centres, Sillod – 6,053 students in 17 centres, Soyegaon – 3,114 students in 8 centres, Vaijapur – 5,301 students in 11 centres, and Phulambri – 4,330 students in 11 centres.
District collector Dilip Swami visited Deogiri College and other centres in the morning. At Deogiri College, 2,800 students appeared for the examination. He inspected the facilities, including security, facilities to keep the students' bags, drinking water, and seating arrangements. He reviewed the police bandobast situation outside the centre and issued directives to the centre chief, invigilators, and other officers.
Prohibition orders around exam centre
Meanwhile, prohibitory orders have been imposed around the exam centre area, covering a radius of 100 meters during the examination period. Accordingly, no person except the examinee students and officers appointed for conducting the examination is allowed within the 100-meter area. Gathering of five or more persons is prohibited. The operation of xerox shops, public telephones, STD booths, ISD booths, fax centres, mobile phones, wireless sets, transistors, radios, calculators, laptops, etc., is banned within the 100-meter periphery. The prohibitory order will be imposed from February 11 to March 18.
Similarly, flying squads, including class one officers, have been established to monitor the exam activities. Each squad will consist of four members, including one woman. Additionally, each centre will have a stationary team, including a woman.
