Union Home Minister Amit Shah is all set to visit Pune tomorrow (February 22) to attend a meeting at a hotel in the Koregaon Park of the Western Zonal Council, which key officials from Maharashtra, Goa, Gujarat, Dadra and Nagar Haveli, Daman and Diu will attend. He will also preside over a function in Balewadi for the beneficiaries of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. Hence, the Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad Police have notified changes and restrictions in traffic.
As per the notification, heavy vehicles will be banned on Pashan Road, Baner Road and Aundh Road for a full day. Moreover, a full-day ban on slow-moving, very heavy vehicles will be implemented in Pune City.

Under the Hinjawadi Traffic Division, the following changes will be implemented: Heavy vehicles from Chande, Nande and Mahalunge to Radha Chowk and back will be stopped. An alternate route has been provided via Godrej Chowk and Hinjawadi. Additionally, heavy vehicles from Sus Bridge and Nyati Showroom will be diverted via the Mumbai-Bangalore Highway and Hinjawadi.
The notification further stated that the road in front of the Balewadi Stadium will be closed to all vehicles along the stretch between Sheetalai Devi Chowk and Mahalunge Police Chowky. Traffic between Radha Chowk and Mula River Bridge will be stopped except for vehicles coming for the programme at Balewadi, it added.

Under the Baner Traffic Division, the following changes will be implemented: Vehicles going to Radha Chowk via Baner Road will be redirected via the Kia showroom underpass or Nanavare underpass. Vehicles from the Highway bypass road coming to Baner Road will be diverted via Balewadi Jakat Naka and Balewadi High Street. Vehicles going to Hinjawadi, Wakad, Lonavala and Mumbai are advised to take Pashan Road or Aundh Road.
Meanwhile, in Wanawadi, two-way traffic movement will be implemented on the road between Turf Club and Water Tank Circle.
