Pune Metro has announced that its special 'One Pune Student Pass Card' will be issued free of cost to eligible students from July 25 to September 15, 2025. This initiative comes just as the new academic year is about to begin in educational institutions across Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad.
The initiative aims to promote greater use of public transportation among students, a key segment of Pune Metro’s daily ridership, which currently exceeds 1.90 lakh passengers and continues to grow steadily.
Under this limited-period offer, students pursuing education up to graduation level can avail the 'One Pune Student Pass Card', usually priced at ₹118 (₹100 + ₹18 GST), completely free of charge. However, to activate the card, students will be required to do a minimum top-up of ₹200, which will be fully credited to the card with no additional charges.

In addition, cardholders will enjoy a 30% discount on every metro ride, making their daily commute more affordable and efficient. Pune Metro officials hope this scheme will further encourage students to adopt metro travel and reduce dependence on private or less sustainable transport options.
Speaking on the occasion, Maha Metro Managing Director Shrawan Hardikar said, “We have observed that a large number of students are already using the metro services. With the academic year starting, we want all eligible students to benefit from this special offer. We urge educational institutions and students across the Metro corridor to take advantage of it.”
