“Natural calamities cannot be averted, but with the exact study and proper training, we can always be prepared to tackle any kind of calamities and can resist losses. Hence, always be prepared is the motto of disaster management,” opined district collector Dilip Swami.
He was speaking during the inauguration of the district disaster management training programme organised at Saraswati Bhavan College on Wednesday. Deputy district collector and district disaster management authority CEO Vinod Khirolkar, district disaster management officer Maruti Mhaske, R. G. Yadav, Adv. Dinesh Vakil, Dr. Rashmi Borikar, Dr. Savita Muley, Ashvini Bhosale and other dignitaries were present.
Swami further said the calamities cannot be estimated, but we can remain prepared to face calamities. Through the training programme, we can learn to remain prepared to face the problems. Through such programmes, we can produce citizens who can be prepared for disaster management by setting targets to provide training to the students. The training programme has been organised with this intention, Swami said.
Ashvini Bhosale delivered the introductory speech and Adv. Vakil presented the presidential address. Mangesh Dolare proposed a vote of thanks.
