Mumbai: In a fresh round of bureaucratic reshuffle, the Maharashtra government on Tuesday appointed Hingoli Collector Abhinav Goel as the new Municipal Commissioner of the Kalyan-Dombivli Municipal Corporation (KDMC). Goel, an IAS officer from the 2016 batch, takes over the reins from Indurani Jakhar, who was recently transferred as the Collector of Palghar district.

Abhinav Goel, originally from Uttar Pradesh, holds an engineering degree and has previously served as the Collector of Dhule, reported Hindustan Times. Known for his administrative skills and field-level engagement, Goel’s appointment is seen as a strategic move to bring effective governance to the rapidly developing Kalyan-Dombivli region.

About Ex-KDMC Commissioner Indurani Jakhar

The outgoing commissioner, Indurani Jakhar, is also a 2016-batch IAS officer. She assumed the role of KDMC Commissioner following the retirement of former Palghar Collector Govind Bodke. Jakhar, who hails from Jhajjar, Haryana, later settled in Delhi with her family. Her father served in the Delhi Police.

She pursued a medical degree (MBBS), graduating in 2013, but soon shifted her focus to public administration. In her second attempt at the UPSC Civil Services Examination, she secured an impressive All India Rank of 30. Her husband, Mohit Kumar Garg, is an IPS officer.

Ex-MBMC Commissioner Sanjay Katkar Appointed MD Of MAHIT

In other administrative changes, Sanjay Katkar, who previously served as the Commissioner of Mira-Bhayander Municipal Corporation, has been appointed as the Managing Director of Maharashtra Information Technology Corporation (MAHIT), based in Mumbai. Katkar’s appointment is expected to give a fresh push to the state’s digital infrastructure projects.

The state also posted C.K. Dange, an IAS officer from the 2010 batch, as the new Managing Director of the Maharashtra State Fisheries Development Corporation. Dange brings over a decade of experience in governance and developmental work.

Additionally, Anita Meshram, a 2015-batch IAS officer, was appointed as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Zilla Parishad in Akola. Known for her grassroots administrative approach, Meshram is expected to play a key role in implementing rural development schemes in the region. Meanwhile, Ayushi Singh has been assigned the role of Additional Tribal Commissioner in Nagpur, an important post considering the tribal population concentration in the region.
