Mumbai: Several parts of Mumbai experienced severe waterlogging on Tuesday due to heavy rainfall, prompting the India Meteorological Department (IMD) to issue an orange alert for the city. Areas such as Powai, Andheri, Jogeshwari and Sakinaka were among the worst affected. Visuals surfacing online showed vehicles stuck in traffic and waterlogged streets, particularly in the Jogeshwari and the roads of Sakinaka, where traffic movement was severely affected.

Despite recent infrastructure developments, including a newly laid sewerage line on DP Road 9 in Powai, the area was inundated. A video shared by the Chandivali Citizens Welfare Association (CCWA) highlighted the issue on their X page.

In response, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) acknowledged the issue, stating, "We regret your inconvenience. We have intimated @mybmcWardS to attend to the matter." The visuals from the different parts of the city surfaced online, including Navi Mumbai and the suburbs.
