Nagpur: Maha Vikas Aghadi's (MVA) SHiv Sena (UBT) leader Uddhav Thackeray on Tuesday met Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis in Nagpur. Uddhav Thackeray was invited to the grand swearing-in ceremony of the Mahayuti alliance. However, Uddhav Thackeray, along with several other opposition leaders decided not to attend the event.
However, Uddhav Thackeray on Tuesday arrived at the Nagpur Legislative Assembly to meet Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis. The meeting being a courtesy visit invited mixed reactions and sparked discussions in the political circles in the state.
There are reports that the meeting lasted for about 10 to 15 minutes on the second day of the winter session. Uddhav Thackeray was accompanied by other leaders, including his son and Worli MLA, Aaditya Thackeray, Anil Parab, Varun Sardesai and Sachin Ahir.



After meeting Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Uddhav Thackeray said that he expects the government to take decisions which will be in the interest of the people of Maharashtra. He further said that the question of the Mahayuti winning the election still remains and they will continue to raise concerns among the public.
After the meeting with Devendra Fadnavis in Nagpur, Shiv Sena (UBT) MLA Aaditya Thackeray said, "There are multiple issues, political differences and ideological clashes, but that does not mean we are enemies."
It is being claimed that the meeting took place as Uddhav Thackeray is eyeing the post of Leader of Opposition in Maharashtra Assembly. No party in the Maha Vikas Aghadi alliance has crossed the 10 per cent mark. However, Shiv Sena led by Uddhav Thackeray has achieved the most number of seats in the alliance, which is 20.
MVA managed to get only 49 seats in the Maharashtra Assembly Elections 2024. Shiv Sena UBT managed to clinch 20 seats, Congress managed to get 16 seats and NCP led by Sharad Pawar got 10 seats.
