A shocking incident occurred at the Visapur Toll Plaza in Maharashtra’s Chandrapur district, where a pickup van ran over a toll employee who attempted to stop the vehicle from evading the toll payment.
The employee was severely injured after the vehicle drove over him. The incident was captured on a nearby CCTV camera, and a disturbing video of the event has since surfaced online.
Accordig to reports, the incident took place around 1 PM when a pickup van travelling from Ballarshah towards Chandrapur crossed the line to avoid paying the toll. Upon noticing the vehicle, an employee rushed in front of the van and signalled the driver to stop and pay the toll fees. However, the driver recklessly continued moving, striking the employee.
The CCTV footage shows the pickup van knocking down the employee before running him over. The severely injured worker was rushed to a private hospital and admitted to the ICU.
The victim has been identified as 27-year-old Sanjay Arun Wanjhare, a computer operator at the Visapur Toll Plaza in Ballarpur. A formal complaint has been filed with Ballarpur police.
Authorities confirmed that the driver of a Tata Ace vehicle illegally bypassed the toll lane, and when Wanjhare intervened, the driver intentionally ran him over, causing critical injuries.
Police are investigating the case and reviewing CCTV footage to identify the accused, who is expected to be arrested shortly.
