Thane: A major accident occurred in the early hours of Saturday when a tanker carrying 32,000 litres of boiler oil rammed into a stationary truck in Thane city, leaving one person seriously injured, a civic official confirmed.
The incident took place around 4:20 a.m. in the Waghbil area along Ghodbunder Road. Fortunately, despite the severity of the collision, no oil spill was reported from the tanker, which was transporting a large volume of boiler oil.
Yasin Tadvi, chief of the Disaster Management Cell of the Thane Municipal Corporation, stated, “The accident-hit oil tanker has been shifted to the side of the road. One person has been seriously injured," as reported by news agency PTI.

In a separate news story related to the road accident in the Suncity area of Vasai claimed the life of a 60-year-old man and his seven-year-old grandson were left injured after a speeding motorcyclist, reportedly under the influence of alcohol, rammed into their motorcycle on Wednesday evening.
As per police officials and a report by Hindustan Times, the incident took place around 5 PM when the victim, Chandrakant Khakham (60), was riding his two-wheeler along with his grandson, Dhruv Singh. The two were on their way to a garden in Vasai when a high-speed motorcycle, ridden by a man suspected to be intoxicated, collided with their vehicle on Suncity Road.

The Chandrakant Khakham was declared dead upon arrival at the hospital. His grandson, Dhruv Singh, suffered a leg injury but is now in stable condition. The biker and the pillion rider are currently undergoing medical treatment.
Following the incident, the police have filed a case against the motorcyclist for rash and negligent driving. Investigations are underway to confirm the driver's level of intoxication at the time of the accident and to determine further legal actions. Authorities are also examining CCTV footage from the area as part of their inquiry.
