The Anti-Human Trafficking Cell of Thane Police arrested two female agents for allegedly running a prostitution trade in Ulhasnagar, Thane district. The police stated that they received information about two women who allegedly lured victims into the flesh trade and called them to come on June 5.
Chetna Chaudhary, Senior Police Inspector from the Anti-Human Trafficking Cell of Thane Police, said, "We received information about the matter. We formed a team of police personnel and raided Hanshdham Co-operative Housing Society located in Krishna Nagar, Ulhasnagar. We apprehended two female agents and rescued three victims, who were later sent to an observation home in Ulhasnagar. The accused were produced in court and remanded into police custody for further investigation."
An FIR has been registered against them under relevant sections 143(1), 143(3), and 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and relevant sections 3, 4, and 5 of The Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act.
The police said further investigation is being carried out by the Vithalwadi police. They are probing to determine how many others are involved in the illegal activities.
