Thane News: Supervisor Arrested For Taking ₹1,000 Bribe From Security Guards

Thane: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has arrested a government-appointed supervisor for allegedly taking a bribe of Rs 1,000 from a security guard in Thane city, Maharashtra, the agency said on Tuesday.

The accused worked with the Security Guards Board for the Brihanmumbai and Thane districts, which provides guards to different government offices. He was in charge of assigning duty shifts to the guards, as per news agency PTI. According to the ACB’s release, the supervisor asked for a Rs 1,000 bribe to give the complainant a preferred 'first shift' posting at a school run by the civic body.

ACB Arrests 37-Year-Old Khardi Up-Sarpanch for Taking Rs 30,000 Bribe for Property Transfer

In another news story related to the taking bribe, The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has arrested 37-year-old M.M. Shaikh, the up-sarpanch of Khardi Grampanchayat in Shahpur, for allegedly demanding a bribe of Rs 30,000 to transfer property documents, officials said on Thursday. Shaikh is a resident of Khardi.

According to the ACB, the complainant had purchased a house in Khardi and in order to transfer the house related documents in his name, public servant M.M. Shaikh, Up-Sarpanch, Khardi Gram Panchayat, allegedly demanded a bribe of Rs 30,000 from the complainant.

In a significant action reinforcing the fight against corruption, the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) in Thane apprehended a public servant red-handed for accepting a bribe. The case unfolded when a complainant, unwilling to yield to corrupt demands, approached the ACB Thane office on May 13 and lodged a written complaint against M.M. Shaikh.

The complaint detailed that Shaikh had allegedly demanded a bribe of Rs 30,000 in exchange for transferring the title deed of a house the complainant had purchased, into his name.
