After two days of intense search operations, the Thane Disaster Response Force (TDRF) and other rescue teams have failed to locate a 52-year-old man who reportedly jumped off a bridge into Kasheli Creek. The search resumed early Monday morning after being suspended on Sunday night due to poor visibility.
Joint Operation Involving Multiple Agencies
According to officials from the Regional Disaster Management Cell (RDMC) of the Thane Municipal Corporation, a team of over 15 personnel from the TDRF, RDMC, and local fishermen resumed the search at 7:00 AM on Monday. Three boats were deployed, but the missing man could not be located.
Victim Identified as Local Rickshaw Driver
The missing individual has been identified as Rajeshkumar Kailasnath Dubey (52), an auto-rickshaw driver residing in Chaudhary Chawl in the Kajuwadi area of Thane. Police believe that he may have taken the extreme step due to a domestic dispute.
Incident Reported on Sunday Morning
The incident falls under the jurisdiction of the Narpoli Police Station. The RDMC received an emergency call at around 8:30 AM on Sunday, reporting that a man had jumped from the Kasheli Bridge into the creek.
Large-Scale Rescue Operation Launched
Following the alert, a coordinated rescue operation was launched involving the Thane and Narpoli Police, Bhiwandi and Thane Fire Departments, and the TDRF. The teams used a fire engine, a rescue boat, and a support bus during the mission.

Police Suspect Domestic Issues Behind Incident
“Preliminary investigation suggests he may have taken this drastic step due to a domestic dispute,” said Senior Police Inspector Vijay Kadbane of Narpoli Police Station.
Search Suspended After Dark
Authorities confirmed that operations were suspended after sunset on both Sunday and Monday due to low visibility. As of now, no trace of Dubey has been found, and the search continues.
