A two-day workshop for railway police under the ‘Anubhav’ initiative of the Rambhau Mhalgi Prabodhini recently acknowledged their role in providing good governance while equipping them with knowledge on health, yoga, environment, reading, communication, and management.

The workshop, held at the RMP's Uttan campus in Thane on April 9 and 10, started with talks on the important aspect of narcotics and national security. The second session explained that police officers can maintain good health only through the right lifestyle.

Another topic discussed at the workshop was enhancing people’s faith in the police.

There were discussions on the biodiversity of the Mumbai Metropolitan Region, poetry recitation, interpersonal skills, team building, and yoga asanas. One session was on community policing to ensure order through citizens’ participation.

Police personnel who attended the programme said the sessions were useful. Dattaji Kuperkar, Senior Inspector, Control Room-Borivali, Railway Police, Mumbai, said, "We got to hear things differently from our routine. We learnt new things apart from gaining self-confidence. The positivity gained through this will help reduce work-related stress.”

Nitin Londhe, Senior Inspector, Railway Police Station, Andheri, said, “The workshop was successful. The lecture on narcotics, guidance on self-development, and the nature trail went very well. Such training will generate positive energy in us. It will help in our work and also support good governance.”

Among the senior officers present at the workshop were Madhukar Pandey, Police Commissioner, Mira Bhayandar Vasai Virar; Dr. Ravindra Shisve, Commissioner, Mumbai Railway Police; and Amit Ghawate, Zonal Director, Narcotics Control Bureau.
