Thane: HM Amit Shah, CM Devendra Fadnavis Virtually Distribute PMAY Approval Letters To 17,975 Beneficiaries

Thane: An event to distribute approval letters to the beneficiaries of Pradham Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) under the "Housing for All" initiative was held in Thane on Saturday. Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis virtually distributed approval letters to 20 lakh beneficiaries across the state, with 10 lakh receiving their first installment via a single-click transfer.

In Thane district, 17,975 eligible beneficiaries received approval letters, out of the district’s target of 18,248. The event saw symbolic distribution to 15 selected beneficiaries. Additionally, the first installment was disbursed to all eligible recipients. Three beneficiaries who successfully completed their houses under the first phase were honoured with symbolic house keys.

The event was attended by Konkan Divisional Commissioner Dr. Vijay Suryavanshi, Thane District Collector Ashok Shingare, Zilla Parishad CEO Rohan Ghuge, and other senior officials. Dr. Suryavanshi emphasized the importance of building quality homes and ensuring timely documentation, while Collector Shingare urged beneficiaries to complete construction on time.

ZP CEO Ghuge praised officials for fast-tracking approvals within just seven days and encouraged beneficiaries to complete their houses at the earliest. The event was simultaneously conducted at taluka and gram panchayat levels across the district, ensuring seamless distribution.

Expressing gratitude, a beneficiary from Ambernath taluka, Archana Yashwant Patangrao, shared, "I have moved from a hut to a permanent house, and receiving this approval letter and first installment today is a moment of joy for my family."
