Ulhasnagar: The Central Police in Ulhasnagar have arrested a 25-year-old man for allegedly possessing 1.6 kilograms of ganja. The accused, identified as Navin Ramdas Chinchole, is a resident of Khemami Road in Ulhasnagar and lives with his family.
The arrest was made following a tip-off from local informers, who alerted police that a man would arrive in Ulhasnagar on Friday to sell ganja. Acting on the information, a police team laid a trap at the specified location. Chinchole was detained, and during a search, 1.6 kg of ganja was recovered from his possession.
He was taken to the police station, where initial interrogation revealed he had come to sell the contraband to an unidentified buyer. Police have registered a case under relevant sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.

Chinchole was produced before a local court and remanded in police custody for further investigation. Commenting on the case, DCP Sachin Gore of Ulhasnagar Division said, “We are investigating the case to determine the source of the contraband and the intended recipient. Further investigation is underway.”
