Thane: The Khadakpada police booked three doctors from Kalyan for allegedly submitting fake documents for 13 patients and received 4.75 lakh from the Chief Minister's Relief Fund in Ambivali, Kalyan. The accused doctors have been identified as Anudurg Dhone, 45, Dr. Pradeep Bapu Patil, 41, and Dr. Ishwar Pawar.

As per the FIR, it states that they allegedly received Rs 4.75 lakh from the Chief Minister's Medical Assistance Fund for a patient's name. However, such kinds of patients have never been admitted to their hospital named Ganpati Multi-speciality Hospital in Mohane-Ambivli.

The incident involving the fake patients admitted to the hospital occurred between May, 26, 2023 and July, 10, 2023. The investigating officer said that the doctors allegedly used the amount for their personal purposes.

An FIR has been filed by Devanand Dhanade, who is an official from the Chief Minister's Assistance Fund, under the relevant sections of 420, 406, 465, 467, 468, 471, and 34 of the Indian Penal Code.

The police sources said that a total of thirteen applications from the patients had been submitted to the concerned department for financial assistance. THE money amounting to Rs 4.75 lakh was received. During the probe, it was shown that forged documents and medical reports were used for the sanctioning of the money.

Suresh Ghuge, an officer from the Economic Offences Wing in Thane, said, "The alleged irregularities came to light when two cases stood in the concerned department. In the first, funds were sanctioned for the treatment of a patient, Arvind Solkhi, for a brain ailment; in the second case, it was for Bhagwan Bhadane, also for the same ailment. Following this, an official from Chief Minister's Medical Assistance Fund found that two applications were made and amounts were sanctioned. Subsequently, began an inquiry regarding this and filed a written inquiry application to the Khadakpada police station. Later, it was found that cheating and forged documents were used for the sanction, after which an FIR was registered against them." Ghuge further added that the further investigation is ongoing.
