Thane: 10 Rescued & 3 Injured After Being Attacked By Bees In Yeoor Hills

The officials of RDMC said that three of the ten suffered facial injuries after being attacked by bees while they were trekking.

Ten youths aged between 18 and 19 who had gone trekking in Yeoor hills located Sanjay Gandhi National Park in Thane were trapped due to an attack by bees and were later rescued by regional disaster management cell officials.

The rescue youths have been identified as Rushi Ghosalkar (18), Smarth Meykar (18), Pranab Parab (18), Varad Basa (18), Sonam Deshmukh (18), Kunal Pamnand (18), Tanmay Naik (18), Rohan Garud (18), Alok Yadav (18), and Arya Yadav (18). They are all residents of Mumbai, Thane, and Navi Mumbai.

Yasin Tadvi, the chief of the Regional Disaster Management Cell of Thane Municipal Corporation, said, "We received information from Vartak Nagar police at 1:30 PM on Monday about the ten youths who were stuck in Yeoor hills located Sanjay National Park in Thane when they were going trekking and were attacked by bees. A team from the Thane Disaster Response Force rushed to the spot, searched for them for about one hour, and rescued them."

The officials of RDMC said that three of the ten suffered facial injuries after being attacked by bees while they were trekking. They all left home on Monday for the trek and got stuck in the afternoon.

Locals and bystanders found that a few youths were trapped on the hill.

They alerted the local police about it. Following this, the police notified RDMC. An official from RDMC said that three youths—Samarth, Varad, and Sonam—were admitted to a nearby private hospital for treatment.

They were injured after being bitten by bees. The rescue team handed them over to their family members. The condition of the injured youths is stable and later discharged from the hospital.
