In a significant boost to India's rail modernisation efforts and Aatma Nirbhar Bharat, Texmaco Rail & Engineering Ltd. has been awarded a Rs 122.31 crore contract for the design, supply, and commissioning of a cutting-edge gas-insulated traction substation (TSS) for the Mumbai Suburban Railway network.
Awarded by the Mumbai Railway Vikas Corporation Limited (MRVC), this milestone project features a 50 MVA transformer, making it the largest ever in a traction substation. As Mumbai’s railway system evolves to meet the demands of a rapidly growing urban population, this high-capacity infrastructure will significantly boost efficiency and reliability, ensuring a seamless commuting experience for millions of passengers.
