On the occasion of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s Rajyabhishek Divas, the Department of Skill Development will organize a state-wide lecture series across all ITIs (Industrial Training Institutes) starting June 6. The aim is to instill a spirit of patriotism, inspire environmental awareness, and connect students with India’s glorious legacy. This initiative was announced today by Minister Mangal Prabhat Lodha at a press conference held at Mantralaya.
The lecture series will be inaugurated via a video message by Hon. Chief Minister Shri Devendra Fadnavis on June 6. On the same occasion, the department will also roll out six advanced new courses in ITIs starting from the upcoming academic year, Lodha added.
“Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj not only established Hindavi Swarajya through his valor but also laid the foundations for good governance, social unity, public welfare, and the rule of law,” said Lodha. “These values need to be deeply rooted in today’s generation. That is why this lecture series is being organized across all 1,097 ITIs in the state.”
The five key themes of the Panch Parivartan vision—Family Awareness, Social Harmony, Environmental Protection, Civic Duties, and Indigenous Thinking—will be the core focus areas of these lectures. “These themes are essential for responsible citizenship,” the Minister said. “They promote lawfulness, national prosperity, social unity, and environmental sustainability. Family awareness fosters peace and dialogue within households.”
Minister Lodha appealed for public participation in the initiative. The press conference was also attended by Satish Suryawanshi, Acting Director of the Directorate of Vocational Education and Training.

Minister Lodha also highlighted the success of the department’s new Public-Private Partnership (PPP) policy, which has received a positive response from the industry. Under this framework, six futuristic courses will be introduced this academic year—namely Solar Technician, Electric Vehicle Technician, Drone Technology, Artificial Intelligence, Industrial Robotics, and 3D Technology.
With over 1.2 lakh students enrolled in ITIs across Maharashtra, the initiative aims to deliver world-class training and open doors to global employment opportunities. “These new programs will empower our youth with the skills needed for the modern world,” Lodha concluded.
