The Raigad District Supply Office has issued a directive to all ration card holders availing food grains under the Public Distribution System (PDS) to complete their e-KYC process without delay, warning that failure to do so may result in suspension of grain distribution.
As per government guidelines, linking Aadhaar details with ration cards through e-KYC is now compulsory to ensure transparency and eliminate discrepancies. " The initiative is aimed at verifying that the individuals listed on ration cards are genuine and that their Aadhaar numbers are correctly linked," informed an officer.
According to District Supply Officer Sarjerao Sonawane, while 75.72% of beneficiaries in Raigad district have already completed the e-KYC, a significant number are still pending. The government’s deadline for e-KYC ended on June 30, and no further extension will be granted.
To facilitate the process, Fair Price Shops (FPS) across the district are conducting e-KYC for beneficiaries. For those facing issues with fingerprint authentication on ePOS machines, IRIS scanning has been introduced as an alternative. Additionally, citizens can complete their KYC from the comfort of their homes using the ‘Mera eKYC’ mobile app.
Officials have cautioned that if e-KYC is not completed within the next month, the concerned ration card holders will no longer be eligible to receive food grains under the scheme, and the entire responsibility will lie with the beneficiaries themselves.
Citizens are urged to visit their nearest ration shop at the earliest and ensure e-KYC for all family members is completed to continue receiving benefits.
