Mumbai: In a press conference headed by Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut talked about various issues ongoing in the country from Cabinet passing the Caste Census to WAVES Summit held in Mumbai, Raj and Uddhav Thackeray's union and other topics.

He further praised Rahul Gandhi for consistently bringing up the issue and welcomed the decision.
Raut stated that the government acknowledged the importance of the caste census due to Gandhi's advocacy, suggesting the move was also timely, aimed at diverting attention from recent critiques faced by the government after the Pahalgam attack.
With elections approaching in Bihar and West Bengal, Raut argued that the government felt pressured to address this matter, attributing the decision to Gandhi's efforts to bring the issue to the fore. He criticized the BJP's earlier opposition to the caste census and emphasized that the current decision reflects a shift in their stance. Raut emphasized the historical significance of this initiative for the Bahujan community, asserting that credit should solely go to Rahul Gandhi.
Additionally, Raut condemned Prime Minister Modi's swift visit to Bihar amid mourning for the victims in Pahalgam, questioning the government's priorities. He reiterated that the BJP had previously dismissed the need for a caste census, citing remarks from BJP leader Anurag Thakur. Raut further criticized the Maharashtra government, expressing concerns about its functioning and governance.
He also acknowledged the educational success of the Chief Minister's daughter while juxtaposing this with the ongoing challenges in Maharashtra. Overall, Raut's commentary focused on the implications of the caste census decision, political accountability, and governance in Maharashtra.
Sanjay Raut backed Sharad Pawar's position and desired for the process to begin quickly when asked about his desire for Raj and Uddhav Thackeray, the leaders of the MNS and Shiv Sena UBT, to work together.
