Palghar, Maharashtra: In a shocking incident in Palghar, an elderly factory owner allegedly drove her car into a group of female workers who were staging a peaceful protest demanding their rightful wages and better working conditions. The incident occurred outside the gates of Mustang Enterprises, a sock manufacturing unit located in the Vevoor area of Palghar East.
Woman injured and admitted to local hospital
A 27-year-old woman was injured in the incident and has been admitted to a local hospital for treatment. A video capturing the moment went viral on social media, sparking widespread outrage and intense criticism of the factory management.
The workers complaints from Mustang Enterprises
According to reports, workers at Mustang Enterprises had been requesting overdue wages and compliance with basic employment terms for several days. With no response from the management, they began a peaceful sit-in protest at the factory gates. A large number of female workers participated in the demonstration.
Workers try to stop the moving vehicle
Eyewitnesses stated that during the protest, the elderly owner of the company arrived in a vehicle. As the workers tried to stop the car to voice their demands, she reportedly got out from the rear seat, instructed the driver to step aside, took control of the wheel, and attempted to drive the car into the group of workers.
No fatalities
Fortunately, there were no fatalities, but one woman sustained injuries in the incident. The event has led to fear among the labor community and has reignited concerns over the safety and rights of industrial workers, particularly women.

Labor unions have strongly condemned the incident. “This is the height of arrogance and abuse of power by the employer,” said a spokesperson for a local workers’ organization. They demanded strict action against the factory owner and called on the district administration to intervene and ensure justice.

Palghar police have launched an investigation into the matter. Authorities have assured that appropriate legal action will be taken following a thorough inquiry.
