Palghar, Maharashtra: Stressing the importance of timely medical support, Maharashtra’s Forest Minister and Palghar Guardian Minister Ganesh Naik inaugurated a newly established blood bank at the Palghar District Hospital today. The facility has been set up by the Rotary Club of Mumbai to enhance the region’s healthcare infrastructure.
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, Naik said, “Blood donation is the purest form of donation. A timely blood transfusion can save a life. The district hospital has not only facilitated such life-saving donations but also organised blood donation camps, giving new life to many patients.”
The event was graced by MLA Rajendra Gavit, former Zilla Parishad President Prakash Nikam, District Collector Dr. Indurani Jakhar, District Surgeon Dr. Ramdas Marad, Rotary Club President Dr. Balkrishna Inamdar, along with Rotary Club members, hospital officials, and staff.

The new blood bank is expected to serve as a lifeline for patients in Palghar district. So far, 252 patients have received blood from this facility, and five blood donation camps have already been organised under this initiative.
Tree Plantation by Naik
In addition to the inauguration, Minister Naik also participated in a tree plantation drive on the premises of the Palghar Collectorate. He planted Surangi and Bakul saplings as part of the initiative. Other dignitaries present at the event included Gavit, MLA Dnyaneshwar Mhatre, and Dr. Jakhar.
