Palghar: A deeply disturbing incident has come to light in Pimpalsheth village, Jawhar taluka, Palghar district, where a 40-year-old man allegedly strangled his 15-year-old son before taking his own life. Police identified the deceased man as Sharad Bhoye, a conductor with the Brihanmumbai Electric Supply and Transport Undertaking (BEST) who was reportedly under suspension.

About The Case

According to Sub-Inspector Anil Dighole, the tragic event unfolded on Wednesday. Preliminary investigations suggest that Bhoye, who had been suspended from his BEST job for the past three months and was reportedly suffering from depression, went to his farmhouse around noon. Upon his son’s return from school (he was a Class 10 student), Bhoye allegedly strangled him with a wire rope. Authorities further stated that the boy's body was also violently banged on the floor, resulting in fatal injuries.

Following the alleged murder of his son, Bhoye is believed to have hanged himself from the ceiling in another room within the same house. The grim discovery was made by Sharad’s father, who resides in the vicinity. He immediately alerted the authorities.

Sub-Inspector Dighole confirmed that the bodies have been sent for post-mortem examination.

Police have registered a case and are currently conducting further investigations into the circumstances that led to this devastating tragedy.

The incident has sent shockwaves through the local community in the tribal-dominated Jawhar taluka.
