'Only If Patients Die, Police Will Act': Hoax Bomb Threat Shocks Thane Hospital, FIR Filed | Needpix.com

A hospital on Ghodbunder Road in Thane received a bomb threat via email on June 14, prompting an immediate police response. Authorities were alerted by the hospital administration, and law enforcement personnel rushed to the scene to launch an investigation. A thorough search of the premises revealed no suspicious items, and no explosives were found. It was determined to be a hoax email.

Following the incident, an FIR was filed against unknown individuals under relevant sections of the Information Technology Act.

According to police sources, the email referenced victims of sexual assault and dowry-related cases in Hyderabad, claiming that justice was not being served. The message criticized law enforcement, stating that they were “sleeping” and failing to investigate such cases properly.

The complaint was officially registered by Deepak Mishra on June 15. As per the FIR, at around 7:10 a.m. that day, the hospital received an email at its reception from the address divijprabhakaralaxami@gmail.com. The sender issued a bomb threat and threatened to kill patients admitted to the hospital.

“Promptly reacting to the message, the hospital alerted the police. A probe was launched, and investigators now suspect the threat may have been intended as a hoax,” said Sunil Patil, Police Inspector from Kasarvadavali police station.

The email stated: “Bomb blast in your hospital to provide justice to rape victim in Hyderabad. We are going to kill patients in bomb blast to provide justice to rape victim and dowry victim. Police is sleeping. They cannot do anything. They don’t know how to investigate properly. Only if patients die, police will become active.”

The email, sent to the hospital’s official address, warned of an imminent bomb attack and created widespread panic among staff and patients. However, after extensive checks by the bomb squad and local police, no evidence of explosives or other threats was found, said an official from Kasarvadavali police.

This incident follows a pattern of similar threats in recent days. Just days earlier, two schools in Mumbai received bomb threats via email.

The Thane police have registered a case and are continuing their investigation into the source and intent behind the threatening email.
