Navi Mumbai: As online matrimonial platforms become more popular, cases of fraud in the name of marriage are also increasing. To raise awareness about this growing issue and promote women’s safety, a unique conference titled ‘Online Navra Nako Gan Bai…’ has been organised in Vashi, as reported by Loksatta.
In earlier times, marriages were arranged through family and relatives. Today, many people turn to the internet to find life partners by sharing their details online. However, with this shift, many women have become victims of fraud and false promises made through online marriage agencies.

According to the Loksatta report, to help women stay alert and protect themselves, this special conference is being held as part of the ‘We Mukta’ initiative by Netra Enterprises, in collaboration with Swift Detectives and Investigations. The event aims to educate women about the types of crimes happening through online matchmaking platforms and encourage vigilance and self-reliance.
The conference will take place on Saturday, July 19, from 4:30 PM to 8:30 PM, at Sahitya Mandir, Sector 6, near MGM Hospital, Vashi. The event is free to all women, but pre-registration is mandatory, and the last date to register is July 16. For registration and information, contact 9326609872, as reported.

During the event, Priya Kakade, Director of Swift Detectives and Investigations, will provide key information about how online matrimonial scams happen and what signs to watch out for. The goal is to spread awareness and prevent women from falling into such traps.
A bridal fashion ramp walk competition will also be held as part of the program, adding a creative and engaging element to the event. This conference hopes to empower women by giving them the knowledge to stay safe in the digital world of matchmaking.
