Navi Mumbai: Days after a man (reported missing) was found dead in Rabale MIDC, two of his friends have been arrested for his alleged murder. The body of Manoj Sabhajeet Bind, 22, was found dumped under heavy debris in a pit. The police said he had been bludgeoned to death. They have arrested Deepak Bind, 23, and Deepak Gaur, 23, for their alleged role.
About The Case
A resident of Yadav Nagar, Rabale MIDC, Manoj went missing on January 21 after stepping out to answer nature’s call. When he did not return, his family searched for him and eventually filed a missing person’s complaint on January 22. On January 29, a foul smell emanating from a pit near a drain at Yadav Nagar truck terminal led the police to a decomposed body buried under large stones. Manoj’s mother identified him by his clothes.
The probe revealed that Deepak had stolen Manoj’s ATM card on January 16 and withdrawn Rs 21,000. When Manoj found out, he threatened to file a police complaint. Deepak then planned the murder out of fear of arrest.
Statement Of Senior Police Inspector Sunil Waghmare
Senior police inspector Sunil Waghmare said, “On the night of January 21, Deepak called Manoj out and, with the help of Deepak Gaur, murdered him.” Waghmare confirmed that CCTV footage from the night of Manoj’s disappearance showed him walking with the duo. The duo was detained and confessed after interrogation. Further investigation revealed that Deepak Gaur had a personal grudge against Manoj, as the victim had assaulted him a few days before the murder.
