Navi Mumbai News: Traffic Restrictions In Kharghar From August 15–17 For ISKCON Janmashtami Celebrations

The Navi Mumbai Traffic Department has announced a series of traffic restrictions and diversions in Kharghar from August 15 to 17 to manage the anticipated heavy rush of devotees for Shri Krishna Janmashtami celebrations at ISKCON Temple, Sector 23.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Tirupati Kakade issued the order under the Motor Vehicles Act after organisers informed that lakhs of devotees are expected to attend the event. The service road in front of the ISKCON Temple main gate is expected to face severe congestion, prompting “No Entry,” “No Parking,” and route diversion measures.

According to the notification, there will be no entry for vehicles, except for police and essential services, on the stretch from Central Park Service Road to Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company, Sector 23. Vehicles coming from Hiranandani Signal will be diverted via Utsav Chowk, Gram Vikas Bhavan Chowk, Green Heritage Circle, and then on to Central Park Service Road to reach their destinations.

Parking will not be allowed on both lanes from Hiranandani Bridge Junction to Utsav Chowk, Gram Vikas Bhavan, Gurudwara, and Owegaon Chowk. Similarly, parking will also be prohibited on both lanes from Gram Vikas Bhavan to Green Heritage to Central Park Metro Station.

The restrictions will remain in force from 6:00 a.m. on August 15 until midnight on August 17. "Ambulances, police vehicles, fire brigade, government vehicles, and vehicles carrying essential commodities will be exempt from the order. Citizens are urged to plan their travel accordingly," DCP Kakade said.
