Navi Mumbai: A strong appeal has been made to set up dedicated ‘One Station One Product’ (OSOP) stalls for women at prominent Harbour Line railway stations in the Belapur Assembly constituency.
The demand, spearheaded by Shiv Sena’s Saroj Rohidas Patil, focuses on creating space at stations such as CBD Belapur, Nerul, Seawoods, Juinagar, Vashi, and Sanpada for stalls run by local women entrepreneurs and artisans.
"The OSOP scheme, a flagship initiative of Indian Railways, aims to promote indigenous goods by providing sales and display platforms at railway stations across the country. The proposed stalls would offer women in the area a valuable opportunity to showcase and sell handmade, locally-produced items ranging from handicrafts and textiles to homemade food products," said Patil.
Patil, a former Leader of Opposition in the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation, has written to Thane Member of Parliament Naresh Maske, requesting swift action and coordination with railway authorities to begin allocating stalls at the earliest.

Supporters believe that setting up OSOP stalls will not only enhance visibility for local products but also play a vital role in empowering women financially within the Belapur region.
