On the eve of the holy Shravan month, which begins Thursday for the Hindu community, a large-scale chicken distribution drive was organized in Nerul and Juinagar to mark Gatari Amavasya. The initiative was led by former corporator of Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation and Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray) Vishal Sasane, along with women’s wing leader Pournima Sasane.
As part of the drive, approximately 2,500 kilograms of chicken were distributed free of cost to residents across Nerul Sectors 2, 4, 21, 22, 23, 24, 25, and Juipada village in Juinagar. The event drew a massive response from locals, many of whom lauded the Sasane couple for their social outreach and timely gesture.
