Raising strong objections against the growing civic problems in Seawoods and Belapur, the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) staged a massive Dhol Bajao Morcha.

The rally held on Friday,  commenced from Sakal Bhavan and culminated at the Belapur ‘A’ Ward Office, drawing a large crowd of party workers, citizens, and concerned residents demanding immediate accountability from civic authorities.

The protest comes amid increasing complaints from residents regarding poor infrastructure and municipal inaction. The party submitted a comprehensive list of civic grievances to the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC), highlighting issues that continue to trouble citizens across several sectors of Seawoods and Belapur.

Among the key concerns raised were irregular water supply, damaged roads, broken footpaths, poor garbage collection, clogged drains, and malfunctioning streetlights. Protesters also flagged safety issues, such as the broken divider near NRI Complex and Shilp Chowk and the unsafe, unhygienic condition beneath the Seawoods railway bridge—particularly affecting women and senior citizens.

The MNS delegation pointed to growing illegal encroachments, inadequate deployment of sanitation workers, traffic chaos, and the absence of CCTV surveillance in sensitive areas. Demands were also made for reopening a closed police beat post in Sector 30, constructing a public toilet near the fish market, setting up a composting plant, inspecting hygiene standards at commercial hubs, and expediting delayed civic works.

The Dhol Bajao Morcha was marked by vibrant slogans and drumbeats as protesters condemned what they called the "negligent and indifferent" approach of NMMC.

Upon reaching the ward office, MNS leaders,  handed over a detailed memorandum to senior civic officials.

The officials is informed to have assured that many of the listed problems would be addressed immediately, while others would be taken up through formal proposals. A written, time-bound response was also promised.

Speaking after the submission, city president Gajanan Kale said, “These problems reflect deep-rooted mismanagement and administrative apathy. The people of Seawoods and Belapur deserve better. This protest is a warning—if issues are not resolved, the movement will only intensify.”
