Navi Mumbai: The Koparkhairane Traffic Police successfully traced and recovered a stolen rickshaw within just six hours of the theft. The vehicle, stolen from Ghansoli village on Tuesday night, was found abandoned near the roadside in Bonkode village the next afternoon.
The rickshaw, belonging to Satish Ware, a resident of Arjun Wadi in Ghansoli, was stolen during the night. The thief had left the vehicle parked in Bonkode, possibly intending to dispose of it. Upon discovering the theft on Wednesday morning, Ware began searching for the vehicle and initiated the process of filing a complaint at the Rabale Police Station.
Meanwhile, traffic constables Bharat Dhumal and Anand Khadatre from the Koparkhairane Traffic Division were patrolling Bonkode for routine traffic management. During their patrol, they noticed a rickshaw parked improperly, causing an obstruction to traffic flow. On checking the vehicle number, the officers obtained the owner’s contact details and immediately called Ware.
"Ware confirmed that the rickshaw had been stolen the previous night and that he had reported it," a traffic police said. The traffic police informed him of its location, and soon after, Ware arrived at the spot. The rickshaw was returned to him in the presence of police officials.

Assistant Police Inspector Vishwas Bhingardive, in charge of the Koparkhairane Traffic Branch, confirmed the successful recovery of the vehicle and praised the timely action of the traffic team.
