A police complaint has been filed against an invigilator and a candidate for alleged malpractice during the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation's (NMMC) Direct Recruitment Exam – 2025 held in Kolhapur district, a statement released by the corporation on Friday, said.

The incident occurred during the online exam session on July 16, between 1 pm and 3 pm when the invigilator was reportedly found giving answers to a candidate at one of the examination centers. The matter came to light during routine monitoring of the examination process.

Following the revelation, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), the agency responsible for conducting the exam, filed an FIR against both the invigilator and the candidate at Shiroli MIDC Police Station in Kolhapur on July 17 at 11:20 pm.

NMMC clarified that it has adopted strict measures to maintain transparency and integrity throughout the recruitment process. The civic body has appealed to all candidates not to harbor any doubts regarding the fairness of the examination and to refrain from believing or spreading rumors.
