The longstanding demand for the development of a jogging track in Sector 50 and the adjoining 50 June area was once again raised.
Former corporator Bharat Jhadav through a letter addressed to the MLA Manda Mahtre has sought for the need of the track for the area.
The proposal, supported by local citizens and public representatives, was formally submitted to MLA Manda Vijay Mhatre’s office and is part of an ongoing effort to improve urban health infrastructure in the rapidly growing node of Seawoods.
In his letter dated April 2, 2024, Jadhav referred to several previous correspondences and proposals submitted between 2022 and 2024, citing citizens’ repeated requests for dedicated jogging facilities. "Despite multiple follow-ups, the demand for a well-equipped jogging track remains unfulfilled, causing concern among residents," said Jadhav.
The corporator emphasized that while Navi Mumbai is known for its planned development, Sector 50 and 50 June lack an essential facility like a jogging track. "Due to the absence of a designated jogging area, citizens are forced to use roads and open spaces that are neither safe nor suitable," he stated.

He pointed out that the earlier proposal for the jogging track, which was estimated at ₹2 crore, had been approved at the planning level. However, the project has yet to move forward. He stressed the urgency of reviving the proposal, especially given its alignment with urban environmental and health priorities.
The letter appeals for immediate administrative action to initiate construction of the jogging track, particularly in the open plot between Sector 50 and 50 June. Jadhav expressed confidence that with support from MLA Mhatre and relevant municipal departments, this long-pending demand can finally be addressed.
The proposal reflects the community’s continued call for healthier, safer, and more livable spaces in Navi Mumbai's growing suburbs.
