Navi Mumbai News: CIDCO Activates 24x7 Emergency Operation Centre In Belapur Ahead Of Monsoon

The centre will function round the clock, including weekends and public holidays, until September 30, to address emergencies and complaints related to heavy rainfall and other seasonal challenges in CIDCO-administered areas.

In view of the upcoming monsoon and the potential risks associated with it, the City and Industrial Development Corporation (CIDCO) has officially activated its Emergency Operation Centre (EOC) on May 26. The centre will function round the clock, including weekends and public holidays, until September 30, to address emergencies and complaints related to heavy rainfall and other seasonal challenges in CIDCO-administered areas.

The EOC, located on the ground floor of CIDCO Bhavan in CBD Belapur, will act as a nerve centre for managing monsoon-related disasters such as tree collapses, potholes, waterlogging, open drain hazards, garbage accumulation, fire incidents, building collapses, landslides, snake bites, epidemics, and drowning incidents in flooded areas.

CIDCO’s Chief Vigilance Officer, Suresh Mengade, reviewed the preparedness of the centre on Monday. He personally inspected the operations and coordination mechanisms in place. “All nodal officers have been instructed to remain vigilant and ensure swift redressal of citizen complaints during emergencies,” Mengade said. “The EOC is fully equipped to monitor and respond to various disaster scenarios throughout the monsoon.”

The Emergency Operation Centre will bring together teams from key departments such as engineering, health, fire brigade, security, and garden services. These teams will remain in close contact with one another to enable rapid coordination and immediate action in the event of emergencies.

CIDCO has provided multiple contact channels for citizens to report issues. Complaints can be registered via phone on 022-6791 8383 / 8384 / 8385 or 022-2756 2999, or through WhatsApp on 8655683238. Additionally, a toll-free number (1800 266 4098), fax (022-6791 8199), and email (eoc@cidcoindia.com) are also available for public use.

“CIDCO requests citizens to use these platforms to report any monsoon-related issues under our jurisdiction. This will help us act promptly and maintain safety and order during the rains,” added Mengade.
