Navi Mumbai: In a major verdict in the Ashwini Bidre abduction and murder case, the court has declared Abhay Kurundkar guilty of multiple charges, including abduction, murder, and destruction of evidence. Kurundkar, a senior police officer, has been identified as the prime accused in the gruesome crime.

The court concluded that Kurundkar not only orchestrated the crime but played a direct role in covering it up. Alongside him, Mahesh Phalnikar and Kundan Bhandari were found to have assisted in the disposal of the victim’s body, indicating a well-planned operation to eliminate evidence.

Meanwhile, accused No. 2, Raju Patil, has been acquitted due to lack of evidence. The court stated that there was no proof of his involvement in the conspiracy, leading to his release.

The sentencing hearing for the convicted individuals is scheduled for April 11 at 3 PM
