For the 395 th birth anniversary of Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, a 4 to 6-kilometer march has been planned by the Navi Mumbai municipal corporation (Nmmc). The march is in line with state government decision to conduct the ‘Jai Shivaji, Jai Bharat’ march across all 36 districts of the state.
"The 395th birth anniversary of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharajletter is being celebrated in a special way. Earlier the Secretary of the Youth Affairs Department, Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India, had issued a directive on the arrangements to be made to celebrate the day on February 19, 2025," said an official.
In Navi Mumbai, the celebrations will take place at two locations at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Chowk, Vashiand at Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) Headquarters.
The march in Vashi will have participation of over 1,500 students from various routes, including Kopari to St. Lawrence High School, St. Lawrence High School to Vishnudas Bhave Auditorium, Modern College to the Fire Brigade, Jain Temple to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Chowk, Sector-1 to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Chowk, Fire Brigade to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Chowk, and Juhugaon to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Chowk.
At the NMMC Headquarters, more than 500 students will participate, with processions from Belapur village to the headquarters, Diwale village to the headquarters, Vidyabhavan High School (Nerul) to the headquarters, and Agroli village to the headquarters. Teachers and Shivaji enthusiasts will also take part in the march.
At the Amphitheater of NMMC Headquarters, a live telecast of the Prime Minister will be arranged. Additionally, performances based on Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s life, including Powada (traditional Marathi ballads), speeches, and dance performances, will be presented. NMMC officers and employees will also participate in the march.
