Navi Mumbai: Vashi Police have arrested two interstate burglars involved in a major theft from a wine shop in Vashi Gaon and recovered stolen goods worth Rs 9.33 lakh. The accused, who are repeat offenders, were linked to over a dozen burglary cases across Gujarat, Mumbai, and Navi Mumbai.
The burglary took place in the early hours of July 11 at V-Five Living Liquids, a wine shop located in Siddhivinayak Building, Sector-31A. The suspects broke open the shop’s shutter and escaped with liquor bottles and cash totaling Rs 17.57 lakh.
Following the incident, Vashi Police registered a case and launched an investigation under the supervision of Senior Police Inspector Sanjay Dhumal. A special team comprising API Pawan Nandre and constables Bankar, Thakre, Shingade, Gorakh Gaikwad, and Amol Bhosale reviewed CCTV footage and tracked the suspects' movement to Dahisar.
Based on a tip-off, police detained Dharmeshbhai Jayasukhbhai Shiroya (27) and Rupsingh Bhairusingh Rajput (36) on July 17. "During interrogation, both confessed to the crime. We recovered liquor bottles from various brands, the tempo used in the theft, and burglary tools, collectively valued at Rs 9.33 lakh," a police officer from Vashi police station said.

Police said other accomplices are absconding with the remaining stolen goods, and efforts are underway to locate them. Investigations revealed that Shiroya has more than 12 burglary cases registered against him in Gujarat, Mumbai, and Navi Mumbai.
