Navi Mumbai: In a distressing incident, a 26-year-old woman died by suicide after struggling to find employment despite completing her graduation. The incident occurred in Sector 5 of Koparkhairane, Navi Mumbai.
According to a report by Loksatta, the deceased, Ashwini More, was the daughter of Raju More, a Mathadi worker living in Koparkhairane. Despite facing severe financial hardships, Raju ensured his daughter completed her education. Ashwini was fully aware of the sacrifices her parents had made and was actively seeking employment to support her family.

However, after months of unsuccessful job hunting, Ashwini reportedly became severely depressed. According to her family, she had been dealing with depression for the past six months due to not being able to secure a suitable job. Upon receiving information, a police team reached the spot and immediately admitted her to the First Referral Hospital in Vashi. Unfortunately, doctors declared her dead around 8 p.m., as reported.
Senior Police Inspector Audumbar Patil from Koparkhairane Police Station confirmed that the woman was unmarried and had been battling depression. A preliminary investigation suggests that the cause of suicide was related to her inability to find employment despite being educated. The case has been registered, and further investigation is underway under the guidance of Police Sub-Inspector M. D. Varude.

In another tragic incident that occurred in Pune’s Ambegaon area, a 27-year-old woman took her own life on Friday, August 9, around 10 pm. The deceased, Sneha Vishal Zhendge, originally from Solapur, reportedly faced ongoing mental and physical harassment from her husband and in-laws over a dowry demand of Rs 20 lakh, intended to fund a business.
Following Sneha’s death, her father filed a complaint at Bharati Vidyapeeth Police Station. An FIR has been registered against her husband, Vishal Zhendge; father-in-law, Sanjay Zhendge; mother-in-law, Vithabai Zhendge; brother-in-law Vinayak Zhendge; sister-in-law, Tejashri Thite; Tejashri’s husband, Parameshwar Thite; and relative Bhausaheb Kolhal.
