Navi Mumbai: Just two days before the SSC board exams, a 15-year-old student, Dipanshu Rajesh Bauddh, tragically lost his life after being hit by a speeding dumper at Turbhe Naka on Wednesday afternoon. The student was on his way to take printout of his hall ticket when the accident occurred. Turbhe MIDC Police have registered a case against the dumper driver.
Dipanshu, a resident of Indira Nagar in Turbhe MIDC, was a Class 10 student preparing for his board exams this year, which were set to begin on Friday. On Wednesday afternoon, he left home on his bicycle to get a printout of his hall ticket from a shop at Turbhe Naka along with his friend. According to police, his friend Altaf, who was cycling ahead, witnessed the accident.
“The incident took place on Pfizer Road near Amit Palace Bar, where a dumper, moving at high speed, hit Dipanshu from behind. He sustained severe injuries and was immediately rushed to hospital for treatment. However, despite medical efforts, he succumbed to his injuries late at night. The cause of death is suspected to be internal injuries,” senior police inspector Apasaheb Patil from Turbhe police station said.
Following the accident, Turbhe MIDC Police filed a case against the dumper driver and took him into custody. “As per the protocol, we have given him a notice,” Patil added.
Father of the boy is a driver and mother works as a house help. According to police, Dipanshu was the youngest among the four siblings, eldest being a 23 year old boy, 20 and 16 year old girls and then Dipanshu.
