Mumbai: The Meteorological Department has predicted that the intensity of rain will increase in some parts of Maharashtra today, July 5. Heavy rain is expected especially in the Ghats of Konkan and Western Maharashtra, for which an orange alert has been issued. Meanwhile, a yellow alert has been issued for many districts including Mumbai.
A yellow alert has been issued for rain today in the state capital Mumbai and neighbouring Thane. There is a possibility of heavy showers at some places. At the same time, heavy rain has been predicted in Palghar district as well.
Warning of heavy rain in KonkanThe Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert for Raigad, Ratnagiri and Sindhudurg districts of Konkan. There is a possibility of extremely heavy rain at some places in these districts. Situation in Western Maharashtra and MarathwadaAn orange alert has been issued here as there is a possibility of heavy rain in the Ghats of Western Maharashtra, especially in the Ghats of Pune, Kolhapur and Satara districts. Apart from this, light to moderate rainfall is expected in the rest of western Maharashtra.
In Marathwada, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Jalna, Parbhani and Hingoli districts are likely to receive light to moderate rainfall accompanied by thundershowers and gusty winds. A yellow alert has been issued for all these districts. Chance of rain in North Maharashtra and Vidarbha Light to moderate rainfall is expected in Nashik in North Maharashtra along with thundershowers. There is a possibility of heavy rainfall in Ghatmatha area of ​​Nashik and Jalgaon district, and a yellow alert has been issued for both these districts.
In Vidarbha, the intensity of rainfall is also likely to increase in many districts today. A yellow alert has been issued for all the districts of Akola, Amravati, Buldhana, Chandrapur, Wardha, Washim and Yavatmal, along with the major cities of Nagpur, Gondia and Bhandara, as there is a possibility of rain accompanied by thundershowers and gusty winds. The monsoon will remain active in various parts of Maharashtra today, and citizens are advised to take appropriate precautions following the weather conditions.
